Rejoice!

This season, you’ve got much to be thankful for.
The Real World/Road Rules Blog is reporting that Bunim-Murray Productions is casting for future seasons of both “The Real World” and “Road Rules.” That means that we’ll live to see season 21 and 14 of each show, respectively. This is sure great news, but BMP needs to do a few things to ensure that these shows are a success. My humble suggestions:
For “The Real World”:
- Cast a few people that you know will get along. Seasons with lots of lovin’ are just as fun as seasons with lots of hating. Just look at Seattle or Chicago — the fighting was balanced by solid friendships. Plus Cara was the shit.
- Include some average joes. Pretty people are nice to look at–and I know you’re not producing radio–but characters are more relatable when not Playmates. Just sayin.
- Multiple gay characters! And some lesbians! Multiple lesbians!
For “Road Rules”:
- Stop voting cast members off. One of the show’s biggest appeals was that the cast of 6 had to work through their problems, no matter if they were winning or losing. By booting weak cast members after every challenge, you eliminate any chance of team building.
- Challenges need to be off-the-wall, bat-shit crazy. That means no touch football games! We want innovative stunts like classic Road Rules.
- Stumble upon the “Real World” house. We love those types of reunions. Look to “Real World” seasons 9 and 10 for excellent examples of inter-show mingling.
I think that about covers it. Did I miss anything? Add your own items in the comments.
This is good news!!
