MTV to Expand Video Game Division

Did you even know MTV had a video game division? Now that I read it it makes sense. I want a “Real World” X-Box game! Anyway, a recent announcement confirmed that MTV will spend an additional $500 million on its video game division in the next two years. $500 million?? Wow.
Find out what this has to do with Seattle, after the jump of course.
By many accounts, Seattle is the unofficial capital of the casual gaming industry with companies such as RealNetworks, Big Fish Games, Thinglefin and PopCap anchored here. Now, some of those companies may want to look to a New York media powerhouse for fresh capital.
He didn’t mention the possibility of acquisitions, but with $500 million to spend I wouldn’t be surprised to see MTV place a few bets. What better place to look than Seattle?
