Lily Allen Plucked from the VMAs

Lily Allen, famous for her radio hit “Smile,” has been pulled from the 2007 VMA line up. After trying to negotiate her work visa with the authorities, it appears that she is no longer allowed entry into the US. What a shame; after all, she is nominated for best new artist…

MTV is trying, however fruitlessly, to get her back in the show:

A source said: “MTV were desperate to get Lily and they’re furious with her visa situation. They’ve decided to pull the plug because they didn’t want to leave it to the last minute to find out if she could or couldn’t make it.”

Hmm, I wouldn’t hold your breath for any miracles–looks like you may have to settle for Kanye. At least Lily was apologetic: “I am trying everything I can to sort this out. I don’t like letting my fans down.”
